InJourney Destination Management Supports the 2025 Indonesia Keroncong Festival at Borobudur Temple
The 2025 Indonesia Keroncong Festival (IKF) was successfully held at Lumbini Park, Borobudur Temple, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency, Central Java, Tuesday (16/12/2025).
This activity, held by the Magelang Regency Government, featured a number of Indonesian musicians, including Kunto Aji, Citra Scholastika, Indra Utami Tamsir, Mus Mujiono, Sono Seni Ensambel, Side of X, Nur Handayani, and other performers.
InJourney Destination Management through PT Taman Wisata Borobudur (TWB) supports the implementation of the Indonesia Keroncong Festival as part of strengthening cultural events in the Borobudur area.
This festival is expected to enrich the tourism experience while encouraging an increase length of stay visitors to the Borobudur Temple destination.
Director of PT Taman Wisata Borobudur Mardijono Nugroho said that the presence of the Indonesia Keroncong Festival is an important strategy in presenting quality and sustainable cultural attractions.
"Through the Indonesia Keroncong Festival, visitors not only come to visit but also stay longer to enjoy the diverse cultural experiences in the Borobudur area. This event is expected to have a positive impact on the tourism ecosystem and the local economy," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the 2025 Indonesia Keroncong Festival, Didik Hariyadi, said that this festival is an important milestone in the effort to propose keroncong music as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
He explained that keroncong music represents harmony between humans, nature, and spiritual values, and it is hoped that it can continue to be preserved and passed down to future generations.
Through collaboration between destination managers, artists, and cultural communities, the Indonesia Keroncong Festival 2025 is expected to strengthen Borobudur's position as a cultural tourism destination that is not only visited but also enjoyed for longer through authentic and meaningful artistic experiences.
