Borobudur Temple can be considered as the perfect form for an abstract art form. This temple is manifested from the form of lines and circles with stupas and reliefs inside. This building is in the form of a geometric arrangement as a Mandala that depicts the universe. So, for artists, this temple is considered as the perfect form for an abstract art.

Many artists paint abstract artworks as a result of meditation. They begin their work by emptying their minds to find the deepest part of their feelings, to listen to the vibrations of life and freedom that flow within them in order to create communication between the microcosm and the macrocosm. "So, when I am asked about the meaning of abstract art, it is very difficult to find the right answer," explained Anton Larenz, a German art writer, in his writing 'Natural motion, emotional vision' which was presented at the opening of the 'Abstract Party' Fine Art Exhibition at Limanjawi Art House, Tingal Kulon, Borobudur, Magelang, Sunday, March 11, 2018. This exhibition was held for one month until April 10, 2018.

Umar Chusaeni, the owner of 'Limanjawi Art House' explained that the annual event 'Borobudur Today' which is already the fourth time, this year is titled 'Abstract Party'. This is proof of the seriousness of 'Limanjawi Art House' and 'Komunitas Seniman Borobudur Indonesia (KSBI) 15' in supporting and building art discourse in Borobudur. In the Borobudur tourist area, the development of art does not only occur in the art discourse that develops from the main network of modern art, such as art academies, museum networks and art galleries. The role of the tourism industry also has an impact on the choices of art practices developed by artists in this area.
