Commemorating the First Anniversary of Tedhak Wiwitaning Kamulyan, PT TWB Strengthens Steps through Green Synergy and Cultural Preservation

PT Taman Wisata Borobudur (TWB) celebrated its first anniversary with the theme "Tedhak Wiwitaning Kamulyan," or "Hope for Good and Glory in Every Step of Its Policies." This represents the company's commitment, as stipulated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 101 of 2024 concerning the Governance of the Borobudur Temple Complex.

Indung Purwita Jati, Operations Director of InJourney Destination Management, stated that PT TWB's first anniversary is not merely a ceremony, but a concrete manifestation of the state's mandate for more integrated and professional Borobudur management. This is done to provide meaningful experiences through wholehearted service.

"In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 101 of 2024, the presence of PT TWB is a strategic step to ensure this world heritage site is managed to the highest standards. The theme of Tedhak Wiwitaning Kamulyan is our prayer, hope, and commitment to ensuring that every policy and effort we take leads to the preservation of the temple, its noble values, and the well-being of the surrounding community," explained Indung Purwita Jati.

The spirit of Tedhak Wiwitaning Kamulyan is manifested through a series of activities that combine commitments to transform new renewable energy (EBT), preserve noble arts and culture, and empower the community economy in the Borobudur Arts Village (KSB) area.

Supporting the commitment to new renewable energy (EBT) transformation, PT TWC and PLN Icon Plus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) Development Solar Panel System at Borobudur Art Village, Friday (12/12/2025). The signing was carried out directly by IDM Operations Director Indung Purwita Jati and PLN Icon Plus Commerce and Marketing Director Joyce Lanny Wantania at Borobudur Art Village, Magelang, Central Java.

IDM Operations Director Indung Purwita Jati stated that this collaboration encompasses environmental conservation efforts and carbon emission reduction through the installation of solar panel systems or solar power plants (PLTS). The solar panel installation could result in savings of up to 30% on service operations at the Borobudur Art Village.

"Our collaboration with PLN Icon Plus demonstrates our commitment to reducing carbon emissions in cultural heritage areas. We want KSB to become a model for aesthetically pleasing buildings with minimal carbon emissions. This demonstrates our responsibility to the environment, in line with the principles of sustainable tourism," explained Indung Purwita Jati.

PT Taman Wisata Borobudur Director Mardijono Nugroho stated that the management of the Borobudur Temple area is indeed geared towards the use of new and renewable energy (EBT). This collaboration affirms the position of the Borobudur Art Village (KSB) as a progressive catalyst in the development of environmentally friendly buildings and tourist destinations.

"Borobudur Art Village is an area that is not only aesthetic but also futuristic. The implementation of wireless aerial infrastructure (underground cabling") has successfully presented a clean and tidy visual landscape. The addition of solar panels and tree-planting activities in the KSB area today further strengthen the green ecosystem we are promoting in the Borobudur area," he explained.

PT Taman Wisata Borobudur presents a cultural parade and shadow puppet performance titled Borobudur Mawayang, featuring the play "Sang Rahvana" at the Borobudur Art Village Hall. The event features performances by cultural figures Ki Sujiwo Tejo and Ki Sindhunata, as well as a cross-generational collaboration between puppeteers.

"We are collaborating with Teater Lingkar Semarang to present a diverse range of puppeteers from across generations. This performance is expected to revive the noble narratives of wayang as a medium of reflection and educational arts-based entertainment for the local community," Mardijono continued.

On December 12, Borobudur Temple Tourism Park offered free admission to 25 visitors born in December. Additionally, to celebrate the school holidays and Christmas and New Year, PT TWB held a children's arts performance from across Magelang Regency at the Borobudur Art Village on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

"This initiative provides a platform for young regional talent and a promotional space for local MSMEs to showcase their superior products to domestic and international tourists. This is a concrete effort to encourage the younger generation and local economic growth," he said.

Through Tedhak Wiwitaning Kamulyan, PT Taman Wisata Borobudur is optimistic about entering the coming years with integrity, innovation, and harmony, making Borobudur a proud destination for Indonesia in the eyes of the world.

"We want the residents of Magelang to feel the real benefits of this celebration. The involvement of various parties, including school children, MSMEs, and arts and culture activists, demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that Borobudur Temple remains the heart of the surrounding community's economic and creative life," he concluded.
